Chrysanthemum tea

Chrysanthemum tea is a tea made from chrysanthemum flowers of the species Chrysanthemum morifolium or Chrysanthemum indicum. The tea is very popular throughout Asia and has a long tradition. Already Confucius wrote about the positive effect of chrysanthemum tea. There are different types of chrysanthemums tea its color ranging from pale white to bright yellow. All these teas have a pleasant floral aroma common.

Varieties

The following chrysanthemum varieties are used for tea the first two are the most popular:

  • Bo Ju from Bozhou in Anhui county.
  • Chu Ju from Chuzhou in Anhui county.
  • Hang Bai Ju or simply Hang Ju (杭菊) from Tongxiang near Hangzhou.
  • Huangshan Gong Ju or short Gong Ju (贡菊).
  • Tai Ju, Tongxiang near Hangzhou.
  • Xue Ju (雪菊), red chrysanthemum from Kunlushan.
