'Harumidori' is a high-yielding cultivar with good quality for 'Sencha', a kind of green tea. The aroma of the processed tea is very mild and the taste is good due to the low astringency and bitterness. 'Harumidori' is suitable for all the tea production areas in Japan. '''Harumidori''' wurde am ''Makurazaki Station of the National Institute of Vegetable and Tea Science'' und unter ''Cha Norin No. 48'' im August des Jahres 2000 registriert. Es ist eine Kreuzung von [[Yabukita]] und Kanayamidori. Harumidori ist sehr ertragreich und ideal für die Herstellung von [[Sencha]]. Diese Varietät ist fünf Tage nach Yabukita erntereif und eignet sich deshalb als Ergänzung zu dieser. Harumidori ergibt einen milden Tee mit geringer Bitterkeit.
