Natsume (棗) are lacquered tea containers usually made of bamboo wood. It is used in Japanese tea ceremonies as a vessel for Matcha if thin Matcha (Usucha)is made. For thick Matcha (Koicha) in contrary are Chaire used.

Natsume derives from the jujube fruit (called natsube) which the shape resembles.
