Ban Tian Yao (半天腰) is a Wuyi Oolong with complex flavors. Because this tea is traditionally roasted over charcoal it gets sometimes a light smoky taste. Ban Tian Yao means literally "Waist halfway to the Sky". The name is given due the fact that the tea was first time grown on a narrow passage between the wuyi cliffs.
